Background 3/7 - Lumped piezoelectric transducers

 

 

Recently the technology of piezoelectric actuators has been greatly developed. In the picture a typical patch actuator is shown:


 

The piezoelectric actuators are devices for electromechanical energy exchanges;from a mechanical point of view they behave as springs and 2 electrically driven concentrated forces, while from an electrical point of view as capacitors in parallel to current generators.
